One of the things that sets us apart is our state-of-the-art, on-site jewelry repair facility. This space allows us to keep your jewelry safer, turn it around quicker, and control the quality better every day. Naturally, we are always looking for ways that we can improve our shop, and today we’re happy to announce our latest investment in local Sacramento jewelry repair.
This new laser welder is made by Sisma in Italy, and its unparalleled features unlocks many exciting new jewelry repair possibilities. The most obvious (and most fun) new feature is the addition of the integrated camera system. The built-in camera allows us to capture extremely detailed, up-close images of jewelry during the repair process like never before. Not only is this an excellent training tool for new jewelers, but it’s also really interesting to watch. You can truly appreciate the jewelers’ skill as you watch them carefully place each laser pulse precisely where it needs to be.
In addition to the camera, the new machine is more powerful, more energy efficient, and over 5 times faster than our previous machine. These improvements allow us to use the laser in unique new ways such as polishing hard to reach areas and cleaning up rough castings. They also allow our jewelers to deliver even higher quality repairs in less time. Of course, all of the usual benefits of laser welding still apply like the ability to work around pearls (and other sensitive gems) and even repair some costume jewelry.
