What people are saying

  1. Careylu says:

I have a heavy rope chain necklace. It is clearly marked stamped 24k g What does that mean?

    • Hello Careylu, thanks for commenting. That is a unique stamp. My guess would be it’s a chain made out of 24 karat gold. But the g is strange. That could indicate the manufacturer who made it, but it’s hard to say without seeing it in person. If you’re in the neighborhood, swing by so we can test it in person.

  2. Heather says:

I have a solitaire marked C with an arrow through it stamped into ring as well as a number 6 with a line under it.

    • Hi Heather, that sounds like a unique stamp. Those are both most likely manufacturer’s marks indicating who made the ring. As for which manufacturer they refer to, that is a tough question. I have heard of company that uses CA with an arrow, but not just a C. It can be very difficult to track down the exact origin of a piece from the stamp alone.
